The Vegan Pie!

This Vegan pizza is a cheeseless pizza with banana peppers and pineapple. The pineapple and banana peppers give it the sweet and spicy element, while the signature sauce reminds you that it can be none other than Pizza Sola pizza. Personally, I’ve always had mixed emotions about the Vegan craze. While I admire the reasons behind it, and the unbreakable will power of those who choose this way of life, I always wonder – how do Vegans get the proper nutrients?

I’ve always been an “everything-a-tarian.” I eat and enjoy almost everything from every food group. I only have one rule – I’ll eat it (or at least try it!) as long as it’s not crawling around on my plate. Naturally, the idea of becoming a Vegan, or even a vegetarian, seems to be an unattainable goal. Last year, during the forty days of Lent, I gave up meat. If you knew the deep-seated, loving, and dare I say it, passionate relationship I have with meat, you could understand this achievement. By the time Easter came around, I could not wait to stuff down all the bacon and ham I could get my hands on. But I have to say, my body did feel great during those meatless days.

I’ll probably do it again this year, and may even take it to the next level and adopt the Vegan way of life for forty days. They say you never understand something until you experience it, and I think that becoming a Vegan will be, if nothing else, a total learning experience. It may be a little easier than I thought, considering I don’t have to give up pizza!
