Pizza Popping Up In Some Strange Places!
We ARE a nation that loves our pizza.
Pizza is good….But, are pizza-flavored items good?
We’ll let you decide.
Take a peek at these crazy pizza creations.
- ICE CREAM: Max & Mina’s in Queens, NY, once tried to market a pizza-flavored ice cream. It was unsuccessful, but other odd flavors such as corn on the cob, whitefish, and beer-flavor survived!
- JELLY BEANS: Popular jelly bean manufacturer Jelly Belly has made, in addition to a “popcorn” flavor, pizza-flavored jelly beans!
- BEER: A company in Illinois has developed Mamma Mia Pizza Beer … a pizza-flavored beer that is currently on the market.
- POPCORN: A company called Uptown Popcorn sells pizza-flavored popcorn. Two of the best snacks for movie night, combined!
- HOT DOGS: Recipe site Yummly.com has a number of recipes for “pizza hot dogs.”
- PRETZELS: A company called Pardoe’s sells pizza pretzels, called “Pardoe’s Perky Pizza Flavored Pretzels!”
Of course, there are also gummy pizzas sold (a favorite candy amongst the kids!) as well as many a variation of the pizza-burger, pizza-taco, and pizza-bagel. Many common snacks come in pizza flavor, from Cheetos to Doritos and even Goldfish. Even some dog treats have pizza flavoring! An ideas-oriented website even had a thread of people posting about pizza and other food flavored bubblegum.
To each his own.

New York Stle Pizza in Pittsburgh?!
New York Pizza
You’ve probably been fooled many times before, but this isn’t just another pizza claiming to replicate the “city that never sleeps” signature pies. This is the real deal! You will find evidence that Pizza Sola’s New York Style Pizza is the real deal in the SIZE and the TaStE of every piece. One slice is about the size of your head making is so big you have to fold it in half to eat it, or dare I say pull out a fork and a knife? Sola also imports the sauce, Sanmarzano, to assure you get that New York taste, and there is more than enough mozzarella and romano cheese sprinkled on top to satisfy you. If you like thin crust, this is the pizza for you. If you don’t, you will now.
You could grab one on your way home from work, or better yet stop by the Oakland location on a Monday Night during Pizza Sola’s Happy Hour where from 9-11pm you get 25% OFF of all drafts and imports. What could be better than beer and the best in Pittsburgh pizza at the same time? If you’re not into drinking you could also grab some of Boylan’s Flavored Soda, a specialty drink with a wide range of fruity flavors!
Bottom line. Make Monday a Sola night, or any night of the week for that matter a Sola night, to get hot eats and refreshing drinks.
St. Patty’s Day

St. Patty's Day in Pittsburgh: Three Rivers or Green Rivers?
It’s the month of March, and we all know what that means! If you are from Pittsburgh…you REALLY know what that means! St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner and this town knows how to CeLeBrAtE whether it is at the St. Patty’s Day Parade, in the South Side, or on your own front porch! Needless to say you’ll probably have all you need to drink, of course for the young-ins that would mean some green Kool-Aid, but with all of the festivities going on who is going to have time to cook? Wouldn’t it be really convenient if you could just get a quick bite to eat? Wouldn’t it be even more convenient if that something was cheesy, with sauce, and came in a circular form? LUCKY for you, and St. Patrick’s Day screams luck, Pizza Sola is available to grant your every wish. Order the Buffalo Chicken Pizza or the Margherita Pizza! If you’re feeling wings, try the Island Teriyaki, or the Parmesan Garlic Butter! Not for you? Fill up your stomach with a Pepperoni Solazone! Don’t cheat yourself, and celebrate St. Patty’s Day to the fullest by celebrating like you should: in the best city, Pittsburgh, with the best in Pittsburgh pizza, Pizza Sola.
