Food Art
I was watching Rachel Ray the other morning (my mornings are incomplete without her in my life) and fell in love with one of her guests. His name is Kai, and he makes crazy cool lunches for his 5-year old son, Laddie. This stay-at-home dad is really talented, and creates pictures of his son’s favorite characters out of fruits, vegetables, cheese, nuts, and anything you could possibly think of. It is so neat! He sketches out an idea on paper and then goes to work in the kitchen carving and strategically placing food.
What a GENIUS way to get your kid to eat healthy by making characters out of fruits and veggies. Finally, playing with your food is acceptable!
So of course, I was intrigued and wanted to see if I could do what Kai did.
Well, that was an epic fail to say the least. No one could even tell that I had made a “food art” version of anything. It is not as easy as it looks, and I didn’t try to carve fancy things like Kai did. So, I came up with a better idea. I decided to create my own super hero! I did arts and crafts in elementary school, so I figured sculpting and tooth-picking things together was just as easy. Wrong. But I had much more success then trying to out-do the daddy lunch genius then I originally thought.

And yes ladies and gentlemen, that is a coffee stirrer with chick peas…I know, true talent right?
I challenge you to create a better superhero than I did… Let’s create a Pizza Sola Super Hero!!
